Anybody ever gone down and fished Cave Run Lake in March? Just wondered, I'm thinking about heading down over spring break around March 21. Looking for any advice if anyone has fished it before in the spring.

They throw a lot of rattle trap type baits there in March. Look to the backs of coves and flooded timber. Spinnerbaits are a good choice too. Think bright colors, it'll be cloudy.

Go to OHfishing.com and pose your question to Sparky. He has a partner he fishes with who has a cabin down there. Both muskie chasers.

I fish dark on dark days... Bright on bright days...
Always worked for me am I wrong or ??

I meant the water will be cloudy. The guides I've fished with there all throw flourescent colors in the spring.

MuskieFirst.com is having an outing the 23rd - 26th at Cave Run. Details are at the web site as well as quite a bit of info. If the rattlebait bite is on fishing can be awesome. I have been at each of the Cave Run outings Muskiefirst has had with this being the 4th, feel free to email me.
