Please help if you know whats going wrong here:
Trying to copy some video clips from the computer onto a cd....
Then when the cd is played back, there is sound and music but no video!
What is wrong? Do you think it would be better if DVD's were used instead of CD-R's?
Any advice or suggestions would be very much appreciated!

If you use a program like Nero it will make all that easier. You can create what they call a VCD or even higher quality SVCD which combines video, music and sound, etc.... Then it should play with any software that plays SVCD's including most of the newere DVD Players for your tv.
There are other ways to do this also..
It will help us here if you tell us how your trying to compile this CD(what software, process, etc). Maybe we can help you better then.

What video format are the clips, and what are you trying to play them with?

Forgot about that one! That site is THE BIBLE for video authoring, converting, and capturing. If they don't list it, it can't be done.
