So I am looking for a bigger trailer to haul my quad around on....I had a 4x8 but once I put my bigger tires on my Sportsman it would no longer fit on the trailer.....so now im looking to purchase a 5x8.....
here's my question.....I am using this to pull my quad which weighs roughly 900lbs.....i'll travel with it from anywhere to 15 minutes away up too 5 hours "ice fishing trips"......do you think a 2,000gvw rating will be plenty and road worthy for that time or should I go with the 3500gvw with the bigger tires??? I can buy them new at $649 2k gvw or $949 3500gvw. OR if anyone has or knows where a nice one used is for cheaper I am not scared to go that route.....anything from a 5x8-10. Thanks guys any input will be appreciated I want to make the right purchase!

The 2000 gvw would be just fine. Remember that the companies that make them allow for a little wiggle room & you will be under that easily anyhow.

I agree, not sure what the curb weight is for the #2000 but you will be well under

I ended up picking up a year old 5x10 with a drop down gate....has a 3900# axel.....Went on the safe side.....guess id rather be safe than sorry if we're traveling a few hundred miles carrying gear!!! Nice trailer at a good price as well so I am excited! Thanks guys,

You cant really get wrong ramps if they're the right size....you may want to check out on craigslist....hard to ruin a set and you can find some pretty cheap....id either buy a bi-fold or tri-fold....check the dimensions of your quad.....width wise....and make sure the ones you order give you some space.....also see if any have a max weight as well....first thing id do if I were you is sell than can am and buy a Polaris!! LOL jk.....goodluck if you have anymore questions shoot me a pm.
