Hi everyone, moving from Erie, PA to the Akron Area. Have a job in Barberton and am looking for sugestions on where to live. I am thinking a half hour drive to work is fine. I prefer to be in the country and am big into hunting and fishing. Any suggestions as to what area I may want to look to with those hobbies in mind? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

akron hmm?...
i happen to live in akron. ive never found a good place to hunt. but there are some nice places to fish around here. ive fished the portage lakes, and the ohio erie canal, but i'd avoid those places for now until summer, because the bobber watchers are out taking up too much space and making it hard to others to fish. if you're looking for panfish, mogadore res is a place place to go, nimisilla res is a great place for panfish too.
lake anna in barberton is also a good place to go, and since your new, i think i may give you some pointers on how to fish it, as it's the only place ive ever caught a number of bass from.
thats about all i can give you, but i figure i should give directions to.

Thanks Johnny. I am a big bass fisherman and would consider buying a boat to do so. I love to fly fish but understand the streams there dont get stocked. I enjoy flyfishing for steelhead and smallies too. As for hunting, I am an avid bow hunter for deer and really enjoy turkey hunting. Would also like to get involved in waterfowl as I have a new shotgun that is dieing to be unleashed! I was told that medina area might not be bad or even the Cuyuahoga falls area.

Not really any good hunting spots near Akron but, I live near Akron and the fishing does pretty well. I fish strictly from shore at local ponds, portage lakes, nimisilla, hodgsons lake (in ravenna about a 30 min drive from Akron) and mogadore.

FYI, I can't PM until I post 5 times, lol. I would love the help of a realtor. I am looking to rent.
