1953 Johnson 6 hp??????

I have the above motor in my possesion. Is it worth anything? I don't know if it runs yet and it's condition looks good ( no dents etc ) but the paint job looks weel worn. Any input to find out a value would be great. I can't post a pic with it cause the size is too big and I don't have the software to resize. But I could email to you easily. exexecoh@aol.com

exexec- American outboard motor salvage in rancho cordova, md. sells reproduction decal sets for most all old omc ( Johnson/'Rude) outboards( I purchased a set a few years back to turn my 35 hp. 'Rude into a 25 hp...- cost was only a few bucks ( they are the water transfer type decals , like the originals) Napa handles many aftermarket parts, and John Phillips ( JP Service, 6530 st. rt. 800, Uhrichsville, Ohio- (740)-922-0483) is an Omc Pack rat!!!- has lots of spares, used, and new old stock for these great motors. i have a 1958 5.5 hp johnson that i use everyweekend runs perfect...i give $275 for it and i was completly overhauled by knox marine...just to give you a comparison
