I'm looking to get my 5 soon to be 6 year old an ATV. However after looking at some of the laws it looks like a youth can't ride state trails till they are 12. Does anyone know where a youth could ride an ATV within 2-3 hours of canton legally?

X's 2...there is plenty of open space to let the younger riders get used to being on an ATV. Once they are comfortable on the ATV there are miles of trails to ride on. Great place.

Bear creek just south of canton. $15 each for the day. It has open areas to play and learn on without trailering to far for ya. They have some info on the web also. Bearcreek.us/ Its usually well groomed and has a few easier loops on the trails so you could do some of those too. My son learned to ride there also.
I just looked and it shows kids 8-10 are $10. He maybe too young there.
Hope you can get him in.
