I had my first experience of watching a ton of dirtbikes and 4-Wheelers buzzing around the track in Malvern. I was doing some photography work out there. Sure looks fun, and the little kids get into it. There were probably 300 racers there last night, and a ton of people.

I wanted to practice some action photography, so I figured that was a good place to practice. I will be back there on April 17th for their day racing. The night racing was cool to watch but a heck of a challenge to shoot photography.

Wow does this bring back memories! I grew up racing motocross, and I used to race all summer long on my Honda CR250 when I was 16. I loved it, lots of memories at Malvern. They used to have a nasty triple down into a gorge called "Gravity Cavity" that would leave even the ballziest guy with white knuckles. Nice pics!

It's still called the Gravity Cavity from what I was told. i stood over there to grab a few shots as darkness settled upon us. From my novice perspective it was cool to watch for sure. Nothing like hearing a bunch of bee's taking off at the starting line, only to go down into the first turn and bunch up and start jockeying for position..haha..

From the looks of it, that place is very popular. 40 Races each session, and there were 2 sessions. My buddy and his son got out of there at 4am. I was sleeping at home by then...haha..

Yeah Malvern knows how to pack them in...especially this time of year. There have been days when I spent 14+ hours there to ride a total of 20 minutes...maybe.
I have raced there a few times but did most of my racing in AMA D-12 when it was around here...we qualified for the Amature National Championships held at Loretta Lynn's back in 2003. My racing boots have been put away for a few years now...now it's fishing, hunting and hanging out with my great family!!!

It's an awesome spectator sport for sure!!!

I went to Lightning Raceway on Sunday. Shot a bunch of photos. Had some nice sunlight so I was able to shoot at 1/4000 of a second shutter speed.

Great pics...I know allot of those guys in those pics..good stuff.
You'll have to check out Area 330 sometime...HUGE natural layout and a 150ish foot tabletop cut across the top of a hill...great track to ride and watch!!
