Default Wind + Rain = Big fish!!!!!!!

I don't know what it is but I like to fish in bad weather. I have caught some of my biggest walleyes in not so good conditions. The walleye seem to like the messed up coniditions to hunt around and ambush their prey. I had a chance to get out tonight with Jared and Scott (Sellfish) to do some late night fishing.
Man was the wind tough to hold the boat straight and hold a good trolling speed. I had ahold of the wheel the whole night with the exception to set my lines and reel in my fish. Then throw in some driving rain and the conditions were perfect! It was slow for us at the start and then we got into some real nice fish. We only caught 4 fish but two were over 10 pounds and one was close to twelve. Sellfish hung this hawg for the last fish of the night. It was 30-1/8" and unofficially pushing 12 pounds!

Jared got one close to 10 -1/2 pounds and I managed one in the 10.2 ish pound range. We we get them officially weighed later today. It was like hitting cards on the river and I am sure we were lucky to get those bites.

I wanted to add this fish also. Last week I was fishing with JIG (Bob) and he got this 10.25 pound steelie. I did not get a chance to post it. It was a beautiful fish that could not be released do to bad bleeding.

Thanks guys it was alot of fun! Off to get my two hours of sleep before heading into work!

John

Default Snow!

What a blast all three of us had last night. My kind of fishing! A Slow, big, pick, in some just ok conditions.

We need to get back out there fast!

Who said Fall marks the end of the fishing season. It's really just the beginning!

Jared

Time for an upgrade!

Fishing in those conditions makes the fish even sweeter.

Nice Hawgs! Fishing was off the chart last night, bite started for me @ 10:30pulled fish through 1:00 am. Nothing under 9# and biggest being over 11# For the most part the lake and ramp was a ghost town. I did see one other rig working off of Cleveland around Midnight. Water has a slight stain to it and all fish were taken with 40-60ft leads and speeds ranged from .8-1.5. Right before the skies cleared a hair and the rain stopped the walleye went on the feed. Weather crew called for 14mph out of the Southeast, more like 30-35mph gusts. What a ride!!

Good to see other die hards scoring on the conditions! Congrats!

This is going to be an interesting finish. Predicting 3 fish over 13 to finish in the top 3. Go get em!!

Thanks guys that was alot of fun. I am paying the price for the late night now. I never went to sleep last night. I just got ready to go into work. I think the boys are out fishing tonight. I said count me out.

I think Scotts fish was officially weighed today at 11.854 lbs. I think that may be leading weight at the moment. I got mine weighed at Gander Mountain in Twinsburg this evening and it was 10.230 lbs. Not sure what Jared's was yet. His was around the 10-1/2 lb mark

Meatwagon. The 10-1/2 lber was caught on one of my baits. The rest were Rapala products.

Luredaddy you know I like that nasty weather to fish in. I will be careful for sure knowing my 6 year old is waiting for me to come home safely.

Donkey thanks for the kind words along with everyone else.

Cleveland may have the reputation for a mistake on the lake but I can sure say with confidence that our fishery is close to top in the country for walleye's!
