On Wednesday, June 20th 2007, OGF member Dennis Malone (Ol' Whiskers), OGF Officer Brandon Smith (ShakeDown) and Lobbyist Amy Gomberg (www.environmentohio.org) gave testimony in support of House Bill 235 before an House of Representatives Economic and Environment Development Committe at the State House in Columbus Ohio.

This issue was first brought to light last year on OGF by Dennis Malone, and has since made it's way in front of our lawmakers as proposed legislation. The bill itself would result in the following, if passed:

"To enact section 6111.051 of the Revised Code to
establish notification requirements for the
discharge of untreated or partially treated sewage
onto land or into the waters of the state."

Please contact your district Representative and show your support! This effects all Ohio residents, regardless of whether you use our public waterways for recreation or not. Additional testimony will be heard later this summer, and if you are interested please contact Amy Gomberg at agomberg@environmentohio.org for details.
